Trip to Ancient Boko Palace Part 2

Category:This Ugly and Beauty of Indonesia, Date: 2010-07-13, Time: 13:20:51

Okay, I lied. When I said few days for part 2, it turn out to more than a week or a month...

So, we finally arrived at the site. This is the ruin of rock cave. Judging from it shape, this cave was not naturally formed. But it seems our ancient was creating this site as meditation temple site.
This signboard mean if vehicle not allowed to enter this area. I ask my sister to kneeldown below, just in case Drossel and Aegis fell off :D

Information board
It already bilingual, no need translation.

Okay, this is a legal mumbo jumbo. I'll make it short:
"For scumbag or scumbag-wanna-be, if you messing around this site, you'll be jailed for 10 years and or fined for up to 100.000.000 IDR

My Sister

Funny thing is, people who don't know us tend to thinking if she's my wife :D
It happen not just when I'm around with her, but it also happen when I'm around with my other sister (I got two younger sister).
I remember, in post-earthquake which put our house as flat as a ground, one of the refugee saw us sat together. She's talking to one of our relative and the next thing I heard from her is: "OMG, I thought he was her husband who just came back from Jakarta!"

Me and my sister were LOLed when heard that XD

Our next destination is this place

I think this place is a hall for several use. But judging from it shape, I think this is martial arts tournament arena.

And my sister with my cellphone, draining the batteries for Facebook

What's wrong with people and Facebook anyway?
I got Facebook account (care to add me :D ?), but I'm not updating my status very often unless it was an important information for my friend.
My sister seems absorbed with this Facebook-thing :D

This empty opened wide block. There's two separate section, smaller and bigger block.

Those section was linked with small bridge (or lookalike.) The bigger block can be used for the contestant to competing their opponent, and the smaller one probably used for the King/Queen or the event organizer to watch the tournament.
If you know about Tenkaichi Budokai arena from Dragonball, just imagine if there are two arena next to each other and linked with small rock bridge.

The Altar

This is the place where people are praying or giving an offering to Gods.
Since the shape of the altar is suitable for figures, the Figmas, Nendoroids and Mameshiki wanna have some picture here too.

My sister as a sun blocker

Focusing on Reimu

We now exploring the other area, this small road will lead us to higher terrain.

And on the higher terrain, you can see another ruin (where Drossel was standing on it).

Far behind her, there's a gate. I think the gate was original, but I was wrong, some of the construction was made by concrete. I can't blame them, since the ruin mostly just scaterred rocks, we don't even know where and what are the original parts.

From the gate you can see empty area below

Mr. Security guard with his cellphone, updating his Facebook status may be?

Reimu walking alone

I was doing low angle shooting when the Goats and its shepherd passing by.

We also passing a cage, I thought the deers in it was a statue, but I realize it if they're moving :D

If you ever watching anime Lucky Star (forgot which episode), then you will remember when Tsukasa feeding the deers and those animals seems easily to aproaching human, well... see what my sister did.

So I take this opportunity to take close range shot.

And I met with mr. Grasshopper

Then we went to down hill, met with the Merchant ladies :D
They're going to the local market to sell their stuff, or buying things like vegetables, or others.

Drossel said:
Please don't run around here, its dangerous.

The place where we're going up is completely different from the place where we going down.
That's because this place actually the main entrance for tourist, while we were using the "back door" and end up at the entrance :D

We're now arrived on the road

From the beginning of our trip, we actually make a U turn. The photo above was taken from where we standing at the opposite place from where we start walking to the hill.

We end our trip by taking Mr. Cow photo :)
Mr. Cow seems just awaken and forgot to comb his fur :D

Okay, that's all. But this is not the last.

Trip to Ancient Boko Palace Part 1

Category:This Ugly and Beauty of Indonesia, Date: 2010-05-08, Time: 09:50:17

Yes, I separate this into several parts because 70++ images will bomb your bandwidth in a single post.
Few months ago, I was go to my birthplace, Prambanan Yogyakarta by Train. Ofcourse, I bring my figures along to have some fun :)

I was arrived at the afternoon, then at the next morning I decided to do some hiking to Boko Mountain, my sister came along with me.
Around 15 meters from my home, there's a junction. To go to Boko Mountain, turn right and you will see this road above.

Cemetery

This place does not have any wall or fenches because an earthquake destroying it (along with my house) few years ago and causing traumatic to most people here.

BTS

This tower was not here when the last time I back to my birthplace. Oh guess what, I got STRONG HSDPA signal, even stronger than what I got in my home at Jakarta :D

Fresh road in the morning

I remember, this road was not in asphlat. When I was a child, me and my dad go to this road to bring our Rice Harvest into the peeling machine service. I remember it was a long way to go, but now... I feel 4 times shorter :D

Hill

The hill now already grow with alot of tall tree, so it became darker because the sun still not rising, yet.

Going Up!

See the yellowish light on the trees? That's the sunlight that start to rising and now already aligned with the same height with us.

Take a break

Okay, I guess my stamina is suck. When I was a child, I can go up without taking any break along with my mother. Damn junk food :p

The Hills Road

We actually could just follow the hills road that already made. But since that road is very long and we dont wanna wasting more time, we decided to hike up using the shortcut :)

This is where we came from

Students

While we going up from the shortcut, those two High School Student was go down to their school.

Okay, now let's go back to our direction. To the Boko Palace Site.

Rumah Gedek

Gedek House (Spelling Gedek= Ge (like "angle" but just use the sound ge not ang or gle)-deck).

Gedek house is a traditional house. The walls are made by bamboo that splited into a thin layer and then weavered.
I remember about people who asking for money when the tourist wanted to take their photo. The old lady on the left said to us like:
"Yo Kids. If you're a tourist, you can take my pictures and then pay me with money"
Sorry granma, we're not a tourist, we're a local just like you :D

Not so shiny Flower

This flower is glowing so beautiful because illuminated by morning sunlight. But since it was too bright for my pocket camera, I must decreasing the EV -_-

Saber Lily

Saber Lily was in Tsunderoid mode.
Okay, I admit, I always put her tsundere face. She's cute with that face.

So we keep going, met with a shepherd with his goat.

Mameshiki Reimu Hakurei Review

Category:Toys & Hobby, Date: 2010-03-08, Time: 14:23:58

Finally I have the chance to make review of this new cutie on the block :D

Mameshiki Reimu Hakurei, was actually a garage kit, named as Kadou Shoujo line up by Liquid Stone. This kit need to be assembled like gunpla, and already casted with corect color, so you don't have to do the paint job anymore.

Then, like any popular garage kit. This kit also licensed and created the PVC version, and called as Mameshiki.
The different between Kadou Shoujo and Mameshiki are, some of the parts are not molded separately. For example, in Kadou Shoujo, Reimu's eyes and inner mouth was molded in separate parts, her face plate is hollow on her eyes and mouth. We must put her white eye and pink inner mouth from behind of her face plate. But in Mameshiki, her face plate+eyes+inner mouth are molded together in a single mold and painted, we don't have to attach her eyes and mouth anymore.

Reimu came with:
4x pair extra of hands (5 pairs total)
1x Miko Stick (uh... don't know the name, sorry)
1x Broom
2x Paper charm/spell
1x Big display base
1x Display rod
2x Display rod mount
2x Face plate (calm face and blank face, total 3 faces including her default)
1x pair of bended legs
1x pair of bended hand

Front view, she can standing by herself without displaying base.

Sit down pose

Side view

Her red line on her sleeves and white line on her skirt also simplified. In Kadou Shoujo, it was molded separately and we must attach it. But in Mameshiki, it already using one mold and then just painted with red (on her sleves) and white (on her skirt).
Back view

Yes, she wearing bloomer you pervert!
The red hole is attached not on her butt, but on her skirt. This hole will be used for mounting part on displaying rod

But her inner white skirt still molded separately. Her hair band is three separate parts and put it together into one. Also, her hair roll (Ugh, I don't know how to call this) on her left and right ears also separate molded parts.
Bow

Also, her bloomer frill and sock on her legs are separate parts which are glued togehter on her legs.
With all of that separate parts and accessories that needed to be molded, I can understand why this figure is much more expensive than a Nendoroid Reimu Hakurei.

Her size also almost as big as Nendoroid. The different is, the Nendoroid version is a deformed form (super big head, small and short arms and legs), while Mameshiki, her head is smaller than Nendoroid, but her arms and legs are longer and bigger. Wich make her look like a children than a deformed figure.

Her foot also big, which is the reason why Mameshiki Reimu can standing by herself without the need of displaying base at all. Displaying base only usable when we wanted to create her flying pose.

Her tail also removable just like Nendoroid Saber Lily.
However, unlike Saber Lily, Reimu's ribbon is removable.

Detail

Displaying base
You need the base, rod, and mounting parts

Notice the three big hole on the base? Yes, that hole can be used for another displaying rod. You can use one display base to displaying three Mameshiki figures in flying mode :)

Ready to fly

Mameshiki logo
Somehow I feel if the paint job was not printed completely on the lower right part :D

I was wrong, that part was actually meant like a stamp. Just like a stamp pattern it never perfectly printed. I just knew it when seeing the box :p

I'm Flying!

The displaying rod and the mounting part on her skirt make her balance enough to create various position. Since the mounting part on the tip of displaying rod is a ball joint part, you can tilt and pan Reimu's position easily.

Back view

I can add some text on the right part
Hm, what should I write?

She also can standing even with one of her leg bended

And doing her daily job, cleaning her shrine.

See, no displaying base.

Comparing with Nendoroid (which is I don't have it :p), Mameshiki version got one differential in the design. Mameshiki don't have the back red ribbon on her waist, while Nendoroid version has it.

Between her daily activity, and Youkai extermination :D

However!
It doesn't mean if Nendoroid version is more"complete" in term of design. Since, Mameshiki also got some aspect that a Nendoroid don't.
Mameshiki version also provided with a scarf for winter theme. It just a simple red scarf but still a big plus. Also she can standing by herself without the need a displaying base, and a lot of extra hand :D

Tea anyone?

Let just say, between Nendoroid and Mameshiki, it got pros and cons. It depend on how you will view this differential. For me, both look so adorable and worth to get.

And the good part in term of availability, Mameshiki does not an exclusive figure :D
But of course, since this figure came from Garage Kit and distributed in limited store, and if you wanted to get her now, just forget it. Since this figure already sold out.
You still can buy it actually, but in mark up price, which is a bad price :p

If you find someone sell it for 50-60 USD plus reasonable shipping, go for it!
Higher than 60 USD already bad, but if you got the money and willing to spend it, why not? This is a rare figure and I don't think we will got re-released soon enough.

The Horror of Postal Treatment Episode 2

Category:WTF, Date: 2010-03-03, Time: 14:15:44

Yeah, it happen again. This time, even more annoying than the first one.

I can understand if rain will make the box became full of moist and eventually will make it soft. But this time, gaaaah...!

I mean, the seller already using big box and paper cushion in it to host two small boxes (smaller than Nendoroid box), but how come this thing still happening? What the heck postal guy doing with my package? Throwing like a rock? Or stacking like a rice sack?

Oh well, at least the item is okay. The seller already doing a great job, but the postal dude got big MINUS on handling my belonging.
I have seen how expensive this Kadou Shoujo so I'm so glad when Liquid Stone finally decided to let this garage kit being produced as PVC model.

I have order this two unit. For my friend and for myself, in fact, it already shipped today :D
Since this figure is much more expensive than a Nendoroid, I hope the quality will be good. I have seen many crappy figure and it makes people disappointed even that figures was produced by famous company.
